I have a MOXI "box" from Charter cable that tunes my HDTV and
records. With the hi def programs I get about 8 hours max. I set up a 320 Gb external hard drive and plugged it into one of the two USB ports in the back of the unit. Nothing was recognized that I could tell. There are also two USB ports on the front which are are used for putting images in memory, but those don't worth either. The "settings" section of the MOXI doesn't have any "storage" or "memory" indicator. Any ideas on how I can get the external hard drive recognized by the MOXI DVR? Thanks Bruce |

In the standard def units, they aren't even connected to anything. See: http://home.businesswire.com/portal/... 0&newsLang=en The cable companies will be updating the the guts standard def units customers exchange for HD units. |

Obviously the USB ports are connected, but the FW doesn't support external hard drives. |

Charter is slowly rolling out version 4.1 of the Moxie FW, which supports a single external HD via one of the back USB ports. See: http://forums.moxi.com/topic.asp?TOP...24&whichpage=1 |

Dish has been promising to activate this external harddrive feature for
years, it's a scam. They never will. |

Thanks Bruce I've two MOXI (Motorola) devices from TW, though one was installed when they were Adelphia. NONE of the external, non-analog, interfaces is active except HDCP-DVI. Also, the Adelphia installer, who seemed quite savvy, said that this was the case. Needless to say, I/we can offload or simul-capture from the device via S-Video - provided that the DVI interface is not in use. HD material can not be offloaded digitally. |
