From the beginning. What is your ZIP code ? You can find a list of

station and antenna suggestions here.

I prefer this list for just the stations.

Are you attempting to use free Over The Air reception ? Antenna web
will give you an idea of how much of an antenna you'll need. Many
folks here recommend the Channel Master 4 and 8 bay UHF bowtie
antennas. You can get an idea about them here.

http://www.winegard.com/offair/squareshooter.htm

We use one of these. It works well at 35 miles from the transmitters
here in southern California. It has the bonus of resembling a
satellite dish and will pass muster with most home owner associations.
Downside is it costs about twice as much as a Channel Master ($100 vs
$50). You can get them for less if you hunt on line. By the time
you're done with cables, connectors and splitters plan on $100-200 for
a decent outdoor setup. Then will come the HTPC (s) for recording and
time shifting. The fun is ahead.

You didn't give much information to go on. Are you receiving OTA
(Over-The-Air) broadcasts with an antenna? Where are you located? What
stations in your area are broadcasting in HD? How far away are the
transmitting towers?

Give us some more info and maybe someone can help.

Jim
