The model numbers are the Samsung SIR-T451 and the DTB-H260F ATSC receivers. The SIR-T451 was released in 2004 and has VGA and DVI ports. The DTB-H260F is the newer model which was released in the fall of 2006, has a HDMI port (along with component of course), much smaller form factor, and has gotten good reviews for improved performance for weak stations and multipath situations over previous generation models. The list price for the DTB-H260F is $175, so don't overpay on E-bay. Both have QAM capability, but the newer H260F is clearly better for use as a QAM digital cable tuner for the unscrambled local stations digital cable channels if one were to use it for that. If you want cable, my advice is to get a proper cable box or a DVR with cable cards. If you want more details, the manuals for both models and spec sheets for the current DTB-H260F are available on Samsung's website. Think this answers your question. (I own both of them). Alan F |

Alan F I took your advice and ordered a new receiver from Amazon. Now all I have to do is painfully wait for that 10 day super saver shipping! |
