Hi Everyone,
At work we're trying to find a simple way to display information to visitors in our lobby, and my thought was for us to create content on a computer then pipe it to a large flat panel HDTV monitor, which would be located in the lobby. I'm looking at the Viewsonic 37" LCD HDTV (N3752W) which has HDMI inputs and shows to be "PC Compatible". If we purchased a newer Dell with DVI outputs, would we just need something like this to go between the two? : http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/D...tml#hdmidvi-r2 I know there's various types of DVI connectors, but the computer from Dell we're looking at just says 'DVI'. Unfortunately I'm no audio/ video guy, so connecting a computer to an HDTV television isn't my bailiwick Any suggestions or ideas on how to make this happenwould definitely be appreciated. Thanks -- Alex |

Hi...
Just a quick followup. I'm reading the specifications of the ViewSonic 37" LCD HDTV I'd like to get for this project - http://www.viewsonic.com/products/tv.../n3752w/#specs - and it shows for PC Input (RGB analog). What is this? Is this a 15 pin SVGA connection? Thanks... Alex |

You will need to run the audio from your PC to one of the audio inputs on the TV or stereo. Check out monoprice.com for a good deal on cables. I bought a 15' DVI to HDMI cable from them and it cost me less than $10.00 including shipping!! (it was on sale) But, even their regular prices are way better than retail stores. And the cable has worked great for me. james |

You would be better off using a 'monitor only' display with 1080p
resolution for info from a PC. They're generally cheaper and you get more 'bank-for-the-buck' (1920 x 1080 vs 1360 x 768 resolution). I would recommend a Westinghouse LVM-37w3.
