Default Catch up after pause live tv?

Hi,

I always thought I was just imagining this (maybe I still am...) but if I
pause live TV for a while then start watching it will the recording run
slightly faster than real time to catch up with live TV again?

I did this the other day after and I check the time difference occasionally
- it started off at 45 minutes behind, then when I checked later it was only
30 minutes behind live TV?

If it really is catching up, I can't tell the difference!

Did you fast forward through some adverts? Cold have been a subconscious
reaction.

only way you'll catch up is by fast forwarding.
you'd tend to notice if the show you were watching was running faster -
every show would become the benny hill show!

Time-shifting snooker helps, especially for certain players - you can
play their breaks at twice normal speed, then they'd be nearly as fast
as the entertaining players...

No (this was BBC3!). I was sitting there watching it when it just popped
up
the 'To watch live TV you must exit Live Pause' - and the last time I
looked
I was about 10 minutes behind.

???

i'd guess your being mistaken is a more likely reason than some time
travelling shenanigans.

Ooh, you take that back!

Actually, it turns out that a frame these days is much quicker, on average,
than they used to be in the days of Pot Black, so you don't often get a frame
that could fill a whole 25 minutes of that show.

It does seem to catch up - I've experienced it myself.

Try starting a recording & immediately start to play it back - fairly
soon you will be informed that the end of the recording has been
reached.
