Reading on another forum that Setanta will be charging £15 per month
(minimum 12 month contract) to get the Premiership football matches that they will be showing. The same amount of matches that you could watch on Sky for £50. Well done to the EU for breaking up the monopoly then, which was supposed to work out better for the customer :-) I think Setanta might just come unstuck here, how many people are going to pay £180 to watch when they could go down the pub and watch it? -- Sean Black |

The Setanta channels are stand alone on satellite - no other subscription or any other package is needed. |

I think we pay enough for Sky Sports, I cannot understand why there is a need to make customers pay more. I agree with the above that getting rid of the monopoly should make it BETTER for the customer, not more expensive. I think with the payment they expect for Premiership Plus games as well then what will it be next. PPV for each match you want to watch. I think the sports shown on Sky Sports warrant paying for, but I am not paying another 15 quid a month just to watch the odd football match, as nothing else on Setanta is of any interest to me. I cannot see many others paying to Setanta as well just for the odd game that they are going to show. |

I think with the payment they expect for Premiership Plus games as well then what will it be next. PPV for each match you want to watch. What would be better, IMO, is to be able to buy a season ticket to watch all your teams matches. I think the sports shown on Sky Sports warrant paying for, but I am not paying another 15 quid a month just to watch the odd football match, as nothing else on Setanta is of any interest to me. I cannot see many others paying to Setanta as well just for the odd game that they are going to show. Same here, pretty much. I rarely bothered to watch any PPV matches at full prices, but at £50 for 50 matches, it was cheap enough make it worthwhile to just watch Arsenal matches, if I wanted to and also take or leave any of the others. If you don't currently subscribe to Sky Sports and you've got any sort of interest in some of the other sport that they'll also show, then it's probably not a bad deal, but I expect anyone with much more than a passing interest in Premiership football will already subscribe to Sky Sports, so will either not bother with Setanta at all, or just watch it down the pub. -- Sean Black |
