too late it wasnt,
Someone has told me i can buy a dvd or box player that plays Normal DVDs in
HD Quality, I saw one on demo,
but Cant remember what it was called, 'the equipment' needed,
Can anyone help please. I dont want to have to start buying hd dvd so soon.

NO DVD can be made to be HD quality.
It is the modern version of "snake oil".
A good progressive scan set and player will make the DVD look as good as
it can look. There is no way to make it true HD quality.

For that you need an HD-DVD player or Blu-Ray player and the
equivalent discs.

If I was you I would look into a PS3. I saw a whole pallet of them at
Costco the other day. Blu-Ray HD quality Video and the newest HD
gaming system out. A great deal, and the reviews are favorable for the
player.

Xbox 360 is also an option if you get the HD-DVD addon (comes to the
same price as the PS3). If you really must have HDMI from you HD
gaming console, wait until late fall (or so) and get the 360 Elite
with HDMI, USD$80 more for the Elite package but includes a 120GB hard
drive instead of the 20GB, and its black. Of course, some HD-DVD
players are around $350 right now, so if you don't want the xbox, just
go with the standalone player.
