True, but all the USB devices try to capture mpeg2 in real time. Which
always looks cack. For it to look anything like the original broadcast
you would need something that captures miniDV, and those are all
Firewire.

I use a Canon MVX460 mini-DV camera (with passthrough) so stuff from the
TV goes through the camera and is captured by my laptop (using Edius).
If you already have a camera with this facility you just need some
capture s/w.
