Default Sky removes Sky Movies from Virgin

My Virgin Analogue cable shows the message: "Due to some technical changes
made by Sky, Sky Movies 1 & 2 and Sky Cinema are no longer available on your
TV service. We've just launched Movies 24, so tune in to your old Sky Movies
1 channel for great movie action." Is this just Virgin Analogue, or has
everyone lost Sky Movies now in addition to Sky One, Two, Three and Sky
News? The message is on the blank channel that used to be Sky News.

LOL. So Murdock's latest world domination exercise is a mere
technicality?
With all the "knocking copy" emanating from the Murdock camp
directed against VM recently, VM get full marks for retaining their
dignity.

In essence they are still available on VM Digital (if you pay for them) but
Sky themselves have re-arranged all the movie channels and have ditched what
was Sky Movies 9 and 10. They are now called things like Sky Movies Modern,
Sky Movies Sci-Fi-Horror, Sky Movies Classic, Sky Movies Comedy, etc (can't
remember all the new names). They are all PIN protected due to Sky now
showing 15 rated films during the day.

Well, yeah but the movies are still reruns over and over again. I used to
pay for the movie channels but eventually it got so boring seeing the same
stuff on for months on end. Could never find anything to watch at a time
when you wanted to watch a movie. Sky Movies format is a thing of the past,
sooner this sort of channel dies the better. I think the world wants full
VOD where everything is on it and schedule programming is a thing of the
past.

No wonder more people use the internet now than watch TV... TV needs to
change... It's like gaming has to change as well eventually on consoles.
Nintendo did something to bring something new. TV will have to do the same.
Now, will it be VM or Sky that manages to bring something out that would be
a DS or Wii winner?
