is it a neccessity to subscribe to all sky sports channels or are they
available individually.

I subscribe to Sports 1 and get 3 with it - on similar basis I also
subscribe to Movies 1 and get 3 5 7 and 9 - at least I do till Sky mess
around with them in April and move to movies subscription by genre :-(

delighted if I could pay a reduced subscription by opting to receive

Quite. It was coined by the rugger buggers to differentiate between
Rugby Football and Association Football (AIUI).
