Sky+ for freeview

I just bought a sky+ box from ebay (pace 3100) and was hoping to use
it to pause and record freeview tv. Is this possible? I have no sky
dish at my house so I can only use the outdoor aerial.

nope.

first you need a sky dish, secondly you need to pay £10 a month to sky.

you need a freeview recorder - plenty of those around.

That'll be out of luck then :-( So, if I have done my research right,
I need to get a sky dish and a freesat card. Will I be able to use
the pause/record options with this setup?

With just a dish and no card it will show all the FTA channels
with either a de-activated Sky card, or a freesatfromsky card it will
also show the FTV channels.

You would be better with a TiVo. Can be used with a Freeview stb as
well as terrestrial analogue tv, cable and Sky.
