Air2PC ATSC tuners. Funny you should mention that. I do have 6 now, but the sixth isn't installed. Don't really need it. So I stopped at 5 installed. And it's only one or two times a month where I'm recording all 5 at once. What type hard drive are you using that can take 5 HD streams at once? Can any of them do QAM? I've recorded from 6 tuners and watched a recorded show at the same time. I don't know where the limit is on a 7200 rpm drive but it's enough for the average HTPC user. As for QAM tuners the HDHomeRun seems to be the favored tuner now because it works with several types of software, is ATSC / QAM dual tuner and reasonably priced. http://www.9thtee.com/hdhomerun.htm Does it do QAM with all of the software listed? How does it connect to the PC? Any chance it will work with beyond TV? |

It does dual QAM, or dual ATSC and even ATSC on one tuners while the other tunes QAM. http://www.silicondust.com/forum/ind...c38b6c92b83472 I wish I'd waited till these hit the market as I really like that the stream is shared across the network so with a couple of these all the PCs on the network could have access to HD via VLC or MCE. |

I agree they are really dragging their feet
But the questions is WHY? Is there some reason why they are so slow abt manufacturing? Trying to let all the analog stock sell out to unknowing consumers? That's the only reson I can think of. That and they assume that everyone is using a cable box or something similiar. |
