Heard today that it was funcitonal, signed up and 'bought' a download
($15 credit if you sign up this month).

Came home and there's the flick, ready to go in the "Now Playing"
list, in a folder called Amazon Unbox.

I'm still waiting for the movie I bought at 9am yesterday to download.
I get an error in my recording history saying "did not download the
movie...movie could not be found"

I tried with another movie before bed last night, and thet hasn't
shown up yet either.

I don't buy downloadable digital stuff because of the DRM that
frequently means you don't actually get what you pay for.

Are you the one who left a similar comment on TiVoLovers?

In any case, another user reported that rebooting the TiVo free'd up
the downloads and he started getting them.

If that doesn't work, I would contact Amazon and/or TiVo support.

I don't download stuff to own, either, but see little issue with it if
it's a 'rental'. And most of the Unbox stuff is supposed to be that.

DRM can still lead to an inability to play the thing ONCE. A computer
is a complex thing.

But we're talking about Amazon Unbox on TiVo here, which greatly simplifies
things. Theoretically, the file gets downloaded to the TiVo, then you hit
play on the TiVo and watch it. I'll know soon: I used the $15 credit
to "rent" Twelve Monkeys and The Illusionist.

Probably OK, with download and playback on specific hardware. However,
it still seems reasonable to be suspicious considering the trouble
that DRM causes in other situations.

Did I read the web site right that it disables Tivo-To-Go? I have a PC
running BeyondTV that I use as a second tuner and I copy the TV shows
to my Tivo Series2 and they play perfectly. I'd like to try the Amazon
Unbox but if it disables the Tivo-To-Go, it's a no go for me.
