I personally make my own from RG6 coax cable, and just solder the ends
on

How come you don't use compression ends? Seems easier than soldering. Any
reason?

Just bought 6' DVI-D Monster cable from http://www.outletpc.com/
Came in a couple bucks under monoprice.com (no name cable) & they had
even cheaper generic ones...

Not to poop on your recent purchase, as Monster cables are indeed quite
good, but I feel that they are way overpriced relative to no-name brands
that you can get that are just as good. Just my 2c, take it for what it's
worth.

Keith, just what is the relationship between your company and Monoprice.com?
The two sites have a great deal in common - they sell exactly the same products,
organized in exactly the same catalog, at exactly the same prices. The two
sites are not identical, yet they clearly run on the same ecommerce software and
share the same product catalog.

I assume that you are simply two different web vendors who sell products from
the same fulfillment house, and that you sell and operate independently even
though your products are both shipped from the same stock and the same
warehouse. Is the answer that simple, or is there more to it?

Do you run your own sites, or is this an ASP model where both stores actually
run from the same service/hosting vendor?

Or is it really all one company?

Please don't take this as a criticism - I see nothing wrong with this business
model. I'm just curious about it.

I was curious about the above comment and just compared the home pages of
both vendors and it seems the products are the same but the prices at
monoprice.com are less than ehdmi.com.

I didn't compare every single product, but all the prices that I looked at were
exactly the same to the penny.

Are you sure that you were comparing them properly? For example, monoprice
lists an HDMI cable for "as low as $3.71", while eHDMI lists the same product
for $5.84. But if you look more closely, you'll find that to get the $3.71
price from monoprice, you'd need to buy 50 of them. If you buy just one, the
price is (you guessed it) $5.84.

Does anybody know where to get high def cables cheapest ?

Also what are the reason for getting HD cables ?
- You need them if you have high def TV and want
to watch HD tv from your HD box ?
- You don't need them for regular dvd ?
- What else are they needed for ???

Thanks.

monoprice.com

I second that. Saved me literally hundreds of bucks over the years
with all the cables I needed. Otherwise, I would've been spending
blindly on the Monster Cables.
