Equipment: Comcast HD cable box + Sylvania HDTV(with HDMI input).
I bought an HDMI-DVI cable for $8 on Amazon, and hooked it up. What I get on the HD channels is about 1/2 second of picture, and about 4 seconds of snow. Audio comes in fine. What's the solution to fix this? I notice when I invoke it, the LED readout says DU01 for a second. When I try surfing a non-HD channel, I get the same effect, but I only get about 75% of the top-left of the screen. It's like it's trying to display at 1080, even though my tv maxes out to 720. Ugh. I really want that dang cable to work, so I can free up a component slot. |

Try unplug the cable box for about 15 seconds, then plug it back in and let it reboot. I had to do the same with my cable box. For some reason when you hook up the HDMI cable while the cable box is on, it will not sync right with the TV. |

I hope the cable box isn't bunk, for it is my 2nd one already. Should I disconnect any of the other output cables(component, etc)? |

It should disable the component outputs anyway when you use the HDMI port. Make sure your TV is set to the HDMI input, not component input. If you get the same results, it could be the box. |
