Default Is current tv worth hdtv?

I cannot find progamming that suits me in STD, let alone
want to have an HDTV!

I have been waiting since the 50's for tv worth buying an expensive set.
I have standard tvs, but hardly think programming is worth the cost, even
for standard tv definition. So why pay for HDTV?

There are only a handful of network series worth watching in ANY resolution.

Movies, eye-candy and sports are the main reasons for HDTV
Not to mention HD/BD DVD's and HD video games.

Since you've been waiting for over 50 years ?.... The programming
keeps changing for better and worse. What I _can_ say about HDTV,
football games look really good, the Rose Parade also. The wide shots
on Men In Trees (Alaska) are pretty impressive and the HD on Nature
(PBS) are pretty good as well.

In your case I'd say find some more good books to read - they're
cheaper and more satisfying anyway.

For you, you shouldn't.

For me and many others, HD has plenty (but not enough) to offer.

Yeah, only a handful. Here's what I record/watch in a typical week:
Heroes, Law & Order (3 different ones), CSI (3 of them too), Grey's
Anatomy, Cold Case, Close to Home, Boston Legal, 24, Justice and I think
there is a few more.

Enough more that I'm thinking about getting an additional 622 so I have
enough tuners!

Not just nature, but almost everything on DiscoveryHD and National
GeographicHD too.

I said there were a few more. Shark was in that group! ;-)

As was Bones, Eureka (SciFi) and Dresden Files (SciFi)

And then of course, there is sports for all and sundry. Golf and
football are great in HD! And last, but not least, is the Discovery
type stuff.

There is so much that really is good on TV these days, you have to
really want it to suck to take the time to find the bad stuff.

Of course, there are people out there who spent $10,000 on an HDTV just
so they could watch the sun rise over a mountain in 1080i; those people
are goofy.

And people who massage their ego by judging the tastes and private behaviour
of others are of course mature and balanced.
