Default Pioneer PDP-434HDE Service menu

Can anyone tell me how to access the service menu in the Pioneer plasma
PDP-434HDE?

I wish to adjust the background black level.

Isn't brightness control good enough?

When the panel is switched on, the screen is dimly illuminated (i.e. grey
not black) even when no signal is input to the system. The brightness
control has no effect on this background illumination.

The effect of this illumination is effectively to reduce the contrast ratio.

You misspelled GREY
if you wanted BLACK you'd have bought a Panny 6 or Panny 7 ( = Fujitsu
VHA 30 ! )

The English spelling is GREY, I try not to complain when Americans misspell
colour! Don't forget you learned the language from us!

He was being facetious. Plasma displays cannot reproduce black, so the
implication is the OP misspelled grey as b-l-a-c-k.

Dr B

Fujitsu VHA30 does NOT equal Panasonic 7 Series - we will see the
next generation of Panasonic displays around September 04 and no third
party manufacturer will have access to any 7 Series components until
at least April 05.

Best regards

Joe
