Default Sky giving FreeSatFromSky customers one month of full Sky package for free - common?

My parents got FreeSatFromSky about 6 months ago, and Sky have given
them a free offer where they get the full Sky package for the month of
February for free. Is this common to all FreeSatFromSky customers?

They fully intend not to continue with Sky after the free month, but
will enjoy the content while it lasts nonetheless.

In oups.com,
Dave typed rather thoughtfully:

All these offers seemed to have dried up ATM. I missed out for my Dad
when he booked in January and only reluctantly booked it because he
really wanted it. I would have been tempted to wait!

In was watching a news item on a skype type program (Zone 7) James mudoch
mentioning the Launch of Broadband and also mentioning Worried about the
numbers of subscribers cancelling and their take up not being what it should
be.

GO JAMES, Lose em all...We need competition and if Sky goes tits ups,There's
other companies who will definately fill the gap...and do it cheaper.
It would be great to have good old competition back!

It's about the only thing they broadcast they are unlikely to repeat.

I had a customer telling me his FreeSat (a long lost subscriber) card
was giving the FULL sky package for no reason, of course I did not
believe him till he showed me, whats going on?

If it is an attempt by sky to show what non subscribers are missing,
may I suggest they are wasting their time?
