Sky Two has started putting permanent adverts on screen during
programmes. A pity really, because until recently they were pretty
clean so I had taken to waiting for everything from Sky One to be
repeated on Sky Two so that they could be watched in peace.

Is there a list of channels that don't do this?

Am I missing something? I never watch the TV live, always recorded through
Sky+, and i`ve not noticed any adverts onscreen. What do the adverts look
like?

A lot of channels using onscreen text to promote upcoming shows or episodes.
SKY1 has been known to do this and it seems to becoming the norm on SKY2.
E4 do this a lot as well as many of the documentary channels and truth be told it is
not an uncommon method of promoting in-house content.
The next step is actually graphics including animations that pop up at random intervals
this is done all the time on the scifi channel.

It is possible not to have seen them but since they are hard encoded into the
broadcast watching live or via SKY+/TVDrive makes no difference.

2 lines of white text across the top of the screen.

Never noticed it :-) I`m sure it`s there, but i`ve just watched some more
TV and didn`t see it, despite thinking to myself to keep an eye out for it.
Not to worry, I`ll survive without seeing it :-)

I sometimes imagine how many people would say "yes" to a version of the most
popular channels going FTA on the understanding they put advertising
onscreen throughout the program?

Even the people who say they ignore it or it does'nt bother them would have
problems seeing about a square inch of program on the screen!

Ah yes, I see what you mean. I just don`t notice it when i`m watching TV
though. It`s not that i`m making an effort to ignore it, I just don`t see
it at all!

Nope, they still just don`t register with me. They are visible if I make
the effort to notice them, so it`s not them being invisible. My fiance has
never commented on them either. I watch the programmes properly, it`s not
just noise in the background, I just completely fail to register that there
is text on the screen!

Does anyone else have the same thing happen with them, or is it just me?
