Default Anyone know of e DVR w/ HDD that have HDMI or Component Input

Hello

Anyone know of a DVR w/ HDD that has HDMI or Component INPUT and that
doesn't require a subscription service like TIVO.

Thanks for any help

Terry

Why would you want a DVR with component inputs?

Component is analog. Digital is better. Chant the mantra with me, "Digital
is better!"

Oh, I see. You want to be able to record without restrictions?

What are you? Some sort of a communist? I bet you want free bread and
health care too?

Well, the only line you are going to stand in is a line-up.

You have been reported to the FBI, CIA, RIAA, KGB, KFC, and Department of
Homeland Security.

Eric

Sorry to learn that you are not feeling well.

I also noticed you didn't suggest any 'digital input' DVR's that meet your
suggestion. Until I find one, I'll continue to include RGB input as an
option.

Get well soon

Terry

*sigh*

The tongue-in-cheek wit sharpener is in the back of the room.

I'm on your side. I want a simple, standalone, set-top-box, HD recorder
with analog components inputs also. I would even go with a D-VHS recorder
with component inputs.

....but, besides building something out of a PC, it just aint gonna happen
because the Entertainment Industry hates us.

There are companies that build consumer electronics that could care less
what the entertainment industry thinks. The problem is that they have
great engineers but they don't have a good sense of what people want. It's
why Apple keeps beating out all of these Asian powerhouses. Apple actually
thinks about the best way to implement new technologies.

DVI is an example. At the point that someone got the idea to just forward
the digital stream, I'm amazed that it didn't dawn on them to immediately
go to the single cable for both Vid & Aud. (i.e. HDMI)
