I have an Hitachi 42HDS69 plasma tv. I watched the playoff games in HD
through Comcast Cable. I live in Wheeling, WV which is in the Pittsburgh region. The teams in white uniforms with light numbers and stripes on them produce a shimmer from the stripes and numbers when the whole field of play is displayed. This was the New England and Colts game. This was a network game. I watched the Bears game and didn't have any picture quality problems. It was on Fox. I tried some adjustments in contrast and tint and brightness. None of these made a difference. Is this a network broadcast problem or a problem with the tv? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

Aliasing is shimmer in the video image, and is fundamentally an artefact of
interlaced video. Sharp lines and fine details in images are affected, and shimmer whenever there is movement. The typical image components that show aliasing are; venetian blinds, automobiles with lots of chrome, automobile grilles and finely detailed images of greenery. Aliasing does not show up until these elements are in motion, so it is typical to see a finely detailed image periodically shimmer whenever the camera pans, particularly in a diagonal direction. http://www.michaeldvd.com.au/Article...sAliasing.html -- Dave (Since 1962) -=Perfect Picture. I've seen it on both SD and HD digital broadcasts. (Get used to it) A_C |
