B: Who says Nintendo hates HDTV?

They did and so did their employees on this group and other websites. I
am
sure they only hate it because the Wii cannot do it. Man, I wished this
Wii
will flop and fall off so that Nintendo could stop peddling there
old-school, broken down games...

So you've gone from being convinced that 'no one is interested in
Nintendo's old-school games' to 'wishing'.

Don't you get it yet? You're an idiot!

Listen young man, go back to the 5th grade and learn something. Nintendo
is a maker of the past. They sold yes, but what happens from here until
July will tell you what the deal is. None of the games look mind blowing
while almost all of the latest 360 games devastate the mind. Even the PS3
can't deal.

earth to dumbass:

HDTV market penetration is 33% at best and gameplay graphics.

grow up, shut up, and stop being a ****ing idiot.

please.

How come only people who either have a Wii, work for Nintendo or who love
Nintendo talk about gameplay over graphics. According to reviews of Wii
games, the gameplay is not hittin it! We already knew that the graphics are
not, so what's left?

360 and PS3 owners never talk about gameplay over graphics. We are too busy
having our minds blown by the experience.

Funny. A while before Wii was launched you told us that we would see
how badly Wii would do once it was launched. Now that it's been
launched and is the most succesful console ever at launch, you
"postpone" your doom and gloom predicions.

Funny

And yet people are more excited about Wii, because most people don't

He can't, because they don't. In fact, they've stated that their next
console will be HD.

But the focus on Wii was to make it affordable and to focus on other
things than just graphics and raw power.

They only focused on that because they knew that they could not compete with
the big boys.

Indeed. Unlike MS and Sony, Nintendo doesn't have other business units
to fall back on. If they had tried to go head to head with the big
boys, they would probably have lost. So they tried a new strategy, one
which has turned out to be massively successful.

The just repackaged a GC and called it new.

You already know that this claim is false, but you are not a person
who cares if you lie, as long as it helps your cause in promoting your
employer's product, the Xbox 360.

It now turns out that this strategy has been extremely successful.
Even though the 360 has been out for a year more than Wii,
Nintendo's console will soon outsell it.

It has not and will not.

Demand for Wii has only increased since launch. It shows no sign of
slowing down. This doesn't look good for Microsoft. And remember,
Japans hates the 360. Nintendo will absolutely slaughter MS over
there.

The Wii only sold because it was cheap when compared to the two real
machines. If the other two had been $300 each, the Wii would have had
to sell for $150 or less. Nintendo is just making as much as they could off
of it. You would have to be a total idiot to spend $250 on a Wii instead of
$300 on a 360.

If if if. Your wishful thinking doesn't stop Wii's success. And you
are right: Nintendo were just breaking even at launch. I assume that
they'll start making money on each console sold pretty soon.

After a while, that Wii controller will be a memory and the bull**** games
cannot carry the load.

What load?

People alreayd see the limitations of the Wii.

Actually, they don't. One of the best looking games, Zelda, is just a
ported GameCube game, and Wii is at least 2.5 times as powerful as GC.

Why do you think that the 360 games show the graphics on the commercials
and the Wii likse to shy away from show the grpahics?

Because the Wii's main focus isn't graphics.

Nintendo's focus was to create a small system that isn't as noisy as
the 360 leaf blower.

My 360 is not noisy to me. Some people must have sensitive ears...

It's a very common complaint.

Thus, they employed new technology to make the parts smaller, faster, and
less power hungry.

New technology? How about the usual shrinking old technology? It happens
all of the time. There is NOTHING new about the Wii except the name.

There certainly is. Apart from the innovative controller which puts
the other consoles to shame, it's been optimized to be much faster
than GC, and to use only 1/3 of the electricity. You don't do that by
simply shrinking stuff. And indeed, both the CPU and GPU were built
from the ground up for Wii.

What you see inside the Wii console is not old technology. It is state
of the art technology, only the focus was more on making it smaller,
quieter and more efficient rather than bigger, faster, noisier and more
power draining.

Oh boy. How we don't see new technology on the screen?

Because the focus was on the innovative control system and the things
I mention above.

Only a complete moron would claim that the only way technology can
move is towards being bigger and badder.

Better and badder( I noticed that you left out BETTER) is the way it always
moves buddy.

Then why doesn't everyone use SACD instead of CD? BetaMax instead of
VHS? People want stuff to be user friendly. They don't care about HD
graphics.

(Note: Hardcore gaming nerds may care about graphics, but they are a
small group compared to the groups Nintendo is trying to reach.)

Such a person would have to claim that state of the art mobile technology
is "old technology" because the focus is on making it small and efficient
rather than big and powerful.

As usual, you are trying to confuse the issue. NO ONE ever said that small
things are not technologically advanced. You are just making BS excuses and
coming with a non-issue to act as if you have a vlaid claim. Everyone know
that mobile phones get better and use more advanced technology all of the
time.

I notice that you cannot counter my argument, but instead resort to
simply claiming that I am wrong without explaining further. As always,
you lose miserably

Who cares? In the 80's and 90's, support from Japan was a must. Now that

anymore. I do love Capcom though. Japanese publishers are dying for a hit.

When it comes to graphics - they do. I do. That's why I did not buy a 360

Well, I was shokced that it sold. Again, I did say that some people may

BS. People are no longer excited about the Wii. The paid for hype is now
over. Let's see Fight Night Round 3 look like it does now on the Wii.

Nope. History shows that "user friendly" "quality" any time, for
most people. Only spotty, fat geeks with special interest in something
care about quality.

Otherwise, SACD would have sold better than CD, BetaMax would have
beaten VHS, etc.

People are no longer excited about the Wii.

Then why it is incredibly difficult to get hold of it all over the

It certainly seems to be the most popular system at the moment, and it
has been since launch. Nintendo was the only one of the three turning

the start with Wii too.

Those who are tired of the old graphics race bull**** and want a new

Sadly, no. They are being owned in Japan, and worldwide Wii is eating
up the 360's ONE YEAR advantage.

It cannot be used for all types of games.

Sure it can.

If Nintendo would have had a powerful system, I would have bought it.

Sure, but you are a tiny minority - a fat and spotty hardcore gamer
who only cares about graphics. Most people don't. And Wii's target

Exactly. And Wii's control system is a lot less complicated and a lot
more user friendly, and allows non-gamers to pick it up right away.
And the graphics are good enough.

BetaMax instead of VHS? People want stuff to be user friendly. They don't
care about HD graphics.

When it comes to graphics - they do.

I do.

Case in point:

http://arstechnica.com/journals/thum...2007/1/21/6696

"It's Sunday, which means at this stage you've either gotten your Wii
from your retailer of choice or you're still bitter about how hard
they are to come by. I was kind of skeptical about how much of a
demand there could still be for the fast-moving system, but it appears
as if this morning saw lines and disappointed consumers again."

Disappointed because Wii flies out of shops at an incredible rate.

Similar stories are coming in from Japan, Europe, Australia...
