Using an SA-4250 box with Optimum Online cable
connected using HDMI connector into a Proview RX-326 TV. The audio volume will not adjust when I attempt to use the SA-4250 remote although the mute button on the remote does function, however I can adjust the volume using the TV remote. When I connect the TV using Component or S-Video with RCA left/right connectors for audio, the SA-4250 Remote Volume control functions as expected. My question: Is the HDMI audio input signal designed to remain at fixed levels or should it be variable from the source? Thank you Arn |

However, going by the TV on screen display, it is adjusting the TV volume. You need to program the SA remote with the code for your TV. Volume works independent of whether the remote is switched to the TV or CABLE position. Tam |

The remote does not have a code for the Proview TV so I guess I'm SOL unless I use the TV remote for volume control. |

But doesn't it have a function where it will search for a working code? The remote that came with my SA3250HD does and I had to use that to get it to control the volume on my Westinghouse LCD. I haven't tried it with the SA8300 in the living room because I usually use a separate AV system for sound and a Harmony remote. But now I'm curious to see if it can get the cable remote to work with the JVC. Dave Clary/Corpus Christi, Tx Home: http://davidclary.com |

You don't need to have all the funcky functions to work, just the volume and power. Call them up. There might be an RCA or Zenith code that works. Tam |

Tam The Proview is a known unknown on Cablevision's remote. Tried the scanning procedure a few time without success. Proview also acknowledges their codes are not available on most if not all remotes. Arn |

Program the Proview to work the 8300, and use that when you are not watching on demand and stuff like that. There might also be third party remotes that will do both. Tam |
