After signing the petition highlighted by Mark I looked through some of
the others and found this one of great interest to many of us.

Only 10 others seem to agree!

A wrong inference.

I am happy to agree with the petition (strongly) but I would rather not
donate my personal information to Bliar. It is not like he wouldn't abuse
it, is it?

Do you really want a government that thinks it is responsible such minutiae
of the public's daily lives as the appearance of logos on TV channels?

FFS stop encouraging the ******s. What I mostly want the government to do
is **** off and die.

Yes, but that won't happen, will it? Whereas it would be very simple for
them to make it a condition of operating a broadcasting licence that you do
not deface the transmitted image with a permanent DOG. It wouldn't cost
anyone a penny, and the human condition would thereby be marginally
improved. Who could possibly object to that?

It would be even better if they imposed minimum quality standards involving
both content and bitrate, but I cannot reasonably argue that there would be
no costs associated with such constraints.

I'm hoping that statement is ironic, especially on the day the government
want to build a database which prys into the minutiae of the public's daily
lives.

I'd sign it if I didn't have to give my email address and click on a link to
add it to the petition. It's not necessary.

Give a false one. It's not like they're going to check it's valid.

Or use a disposable one, there are plenty of services around that will
give you one.

They send an e-mail to the address you give and don't add your name
until you reply.

Or use a disposable one, there are plenty of services around that
will give you one.

That would work.
