oups.com... So after all this time King Kong comes to sky movies two. And they decide to show it on multiscreen. So we flick onto it at seven, and are gretted with a screen... Please enter PIN. Now come on... this isnt a porn movie! Its a normal film shown at its appropriate time! And... We have never used a ****ing PIN We have no use for a ****ing PIN We do not want a ****ing PIN We, having paid over the odds for SKY movies should NOT have to be phoning Sky at 7 o clock on a New Years Day to try and find out what this PIN is... Apparently, the PIN is for people who watch boxoffice and x-rated movies... Sorry Sky, but King Kong is not a porno (that is King Dong), and this behaviour is totally unacceptable. Trying to phone up to sort this out, and oh, its engaged. What a suprise half of the UK has the same problem and are all tryin to phone the same 1 operator.... Ive totally lost my confidence in Sky after this..... (PS. At least there is Taylor vs Barneveld to watch to contain our anger at missing one of the top billed films of the xmas holidays) I think I saw your dummy on the floor somewhere around here.... -- RCE Defiant |

Hi,
In article , Paul wrote: Yeah, but we should have the option for all customers if they wish to disable it then they should be able to do so On all but HD boxes (which are a little behind in software terms) you can (IIRC). Andy |

Last four numbers on your viewing card is usually your PIN (Though I totally agree as NOTHING on Sky needs nanny protection not even the so-called *porn* channels!) T.W. |

Mike Yeah, but we should have the option for all customers if they wish to disable it then they should be able to do so, a bit like the old red dot. As has been pointed out before some people don't have little kids around so having to input a pin number is tediously unnecessary. Quite. Especially so given that every timeshifting device except Sky's own Sky+ system is completely screwed by this. Adult-only households should be able to turn the PIN prompts off. It does seem sometimes like they really do just want to make using other equipment as hard as possible. -- Paul (Need a lift she said much obliged) ------------------------------------------------------- Stop and Look http://www.geocities.com/dreamst8me/ |

Andy There's a little box when you go in there which says something like 'turn off adult limits' or something, but I've tried it and you still have to use pin on 9 & 10 at least. It's rare that the main ones use pin so harder to see if it works. -- Paul (Need a lift she said much obliged) ------------------------------------------------------- Stop and Look http://www.geocities.com/dreamst8me/ |

Is the option to remove the red "dot" (if only it was still just a dot) for Sky+ or HD users only? I'm still plagued with the thing. You can set it to time out after about 30 seconds, but you can't stop it from coming back on as often as the broadcaster wants it to. Hogfather was wrecked for me by constant reminders to watch the beginning again every few minutes. I don't think there is an option but it would surprise me if HD users did have it. Yes, it did ruin Hogfather and a fair number of other programs -- Paul (Need a lift she said much obliged) ------------------------------------------------------- Stop and Look http://www.geocities.com/dreamst8me/ |

Hogfather was wrecked for me by constant reminders to watch the beginning again every few minutes. All I did was record it, Then started playback 50 minutes after it started so I could record it to DVD without the ****e onscreen. No red dots but now we have the "Also available in HD" to contend with (like we care!) As for a normal Sky box, I don't think there is any option to remove it :-/ Did the dot still appear on the repeat couple of days later on Sky Three? ( I think it was Three anyway) |
