Default Stuck Pixel - What to do?

I've just discovered a stuck pixel on my new Philips 42"
42PF7220A/37B. Is there anything that can be done about it?

I purchased this for $950.00 w/free shipping, as a refurbished unit on
the Philips web site; so I'm wondering how much of a big deal I
should/can make of it.

LCD warranties generally allow pixel failures up to a certain percentage to be
"normal" and not subject to repair/replacement clauses. Bottom line is that if
they do anything it will be as a gesture of good will, not because they are
obligated to.

Does the same apply to Plasma?

My Samsung plasma documentation goes out of its way to mention (in at least
three separate documents) that image burn-in is NOT covered by the warranty.
There is no mention of anything related to individual pixel problems.

snip

Light comes from phosphors on a plasma (and CRT) which darken as they
wear out. If you run 4:3 on your plasma a lot, the center will wear out
faster (darken) than the edges. The brighter you run it, the faster it
wears out. Get a nice flat 16:9 field and you'll see the boundaries
where 4:3 displays. Newer units claim to be better on this issue but
time will tell. Colors are real pretty when they're new though.

Happy New Year

This talks about LCD pixels but that Philips is a plasma. Does it still
apply?
