I have a new Sony KDL-40XBR2, connected to Cablevisions Scientific
Atlanta hdtv dvr box with an HMMI cable. The box is set to pass through. When I switch channels in the high def channels, sometimes there is a time lag while the set changes resolutions. I assume this is normal - is it? Also, sometimes the set "misses," for lack of a better word. That is, it doesn't go to 1080i, or 720 - I get a 480i picture, in which case I go down to the non-high def channels, then try again, and it usually corrects itself. Has anyone else had this issue? It seems like high def is not quite ready for prime time. Thanks, Ken |

I had my box set like this for a day or so and the lag while changing channels/resolutions was quite aggravating! I ended up using the easy setup and letting the box output all channels in 1080i and set the box to pass through. No more slow channel changes. I use the box while viewing HD content or recording any channel. I really dont have much use for the crap sd digital channels. I also have two other inputs besides my DVD. One is cable in to the set using the QAM tuner which gets all the in the clear HD channels. And an antenna for OTA HD mostly for FOX as Time Warner does not carry FOX HD. I can then record 2 channels on the box and watch a third on one of the other 2 inputs. |
