Use caller display and greet them with a very loud blast of a referee's
whistle down the telephone when you answer it.

:O) We have the capability but are loathe to give more dosh to
telewest! The whistle sounds good though, I could wait til they say
who they are and let them have it.

Rather than go for that routine, when I had a telesales call a while back, the
phone said 'unknown caller' and I usually ignore these but thought I'd
entertain it just this once.

It was a bloke from India who started telling me about a new 3G mobile phone
so I let him talk for about a minute before I asked in a straight-forward, yet
enquiring, voice, "That all sounds well and good, but can I still use it as,
you see, the problem is that I have no penis."

(Big pause from the caller..... before he gets back to his script and
continues)

After another 30 seconds I interrupted and said, "Can I ask... does it have an
attachment so I can put it where my penis should be?"

This went on for about five minutes with the caller getting very confused and
trying to return back to his script and amused me immensely.

I stopped him again and said, "You do realise I'm taking the ****, don't you?"

Him: "...I think I'll put you through to my manager to discuss this."
Me: "No, I don't think so, in fact I think you can just **** right off"

and hung up.

They didn't ring back

Another fun thing to try is when you're out in a pub or restaurant with
someone, and at some point that person will go off to the loo or whatever, at
which point you can catch someone's eye, look all pained and desperate and
mouth, "Help me!".

They'll look back confused because out of the corner of their eye they've seen
you laughing and joking with that person and they don't get it at first until
you repeat the above a couple of times, by which time your friend comes back.
As they sit down you look disdainfully at the person who's attention you were
trying to get as if they've just ruined your life forever.

Then they leave the pub/restaurant wondering for the rest of their lives if
you really were in mortal danger

:O) But if I tell them Dom has no penis do you think that'll work for
me?

Is it true that a Sky call out is now £80 and not £65, as one of these
plonkers claimed?

I don't know but I tried using their QA to find out and kept getting
links to the service plan instead, which is £5 odd a month apparently!
