I notice from Jan 1st Sky will be charging £4.75 for their "free"
magazines,
but will reduce the Sky Subscription by the same amount. So does that mean
you can cancel these mags and get a reduced subscription as I can't see
how
they can force you to buy them, and surly the Sky subscription should be
the
same if you take the mags or not!!

How do I get the mag?. I joined Sky about 6 months ago and I have never
received the mag (come to think of it, I have only received a printed
bill once).
I am on the basic package (not sky +)

---
I'm sure that you only get this mag when subscribing to any premium channels
(movies, sports)

I think you only get it if you have been subscribed for movies or
sports channels at any time. I got movies turned on one christmas, but
downgraded afterwards and still get the magazine. I can assure you,
you're not missing anything.

I`ve only ever been on the absolute basic package, and I get the magazine.
Not that it gets read before it gets recycled mind you.

I've only ever been on the basic package but the wretched thing keeps
arriving. I've looked through one and binned all the others since. How
do I go about cancelling it?

A letter sent with my magazine last week says:

2007 the total price you pay to BSkyB Publications for your magazine
will be £1.75. Your subscription payment will be discounted by the price
of the magazine, so you won't see any changes to your monthly payment,

I'd like to know if I can save money by cancelling the magazine, too.

What part of "your subscription payment will be discounted by the
price of the magazine" is unclear? No magazine, no price, no discount.

None of that sentence in isolation, but that wasn't the question. It
doesn't make it clear that you only get the discount if you also take
the magazine. It could easily mean that everyone's getting a £1.75
discount on subs.

I see your point, but then that would make me wrong, and since we
can't have that, I'll just say nothing. :-)
