HI I'm a newbie, and have read the article on faq, but can't find this
answered, so I hope someone will be able to help. I've got 'standard' sky on a panasonic tv with a panasonic dvd recorder. I'd like ot be able to record sky programmes from the sky guide. Is this possible. If not is there any way around this, pother than buying sky plus. The tv has an ninbuilt freeview system, so I can record any of thesE from the dvd recorders tv guide, but obviously not the sky progs. any advice appreciated. cheers DW |

've got 'standard' sky on a panasonic tv with a panasonic dvd recorder. I'd like ot be able to record sky programmes from the sky guide. There are two ways of doing it. If your DVDR supports auto-record from sat (it will tell you in the manual though they may call it something else) then you would normally need to connect the VCR scart output of the Sky box to the AV2 scart input on the DVDR. Use the Sky guide to select programmes to record, setting "auto-view" with the red button. Put the digibox into standby. Then put the DVDR into auto-record mode (usually standby). The DVDR manual will say if this isn't the way it works. At the correct time (Sky EPG permitting) the digibox will turn on selecting the right channel and the DVDR will start recording. If your DVDR doesn't support this function then you can use one of these: http://www.bluedelta.co.uk/phantom_plus.htm -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these. I don't know. Better ask the manufacturer. If you set the Sky to change on the programme you want it will always change a few minutes after the programme starts. Not always, and usually not as much as a few. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these. Every time I've used it it has been at least 3 minutes after the programme starts that it has changed channel. Could that indicate that the programme is starting earlier than billed, rather than the channel getting changed late? -- |
