Default Looking for suggestions for a DVR

I am thinking of getting a DRV (HDD type)
I do not currently have HDTV, but do plan on it in the future.
I have heard that some of the DRVs have the capability of recording 2
channels at the same time.

Ideally, I would like to have a unit that also has an has DVD writer.

Also, is it possible to upgrade the HDD in these units?

Thanks
Bruce

PS, if there is a better NG, please provide what eever info you can and then
getle let me know what would be the correct NG

Yes, they are called PC's with tuner's in them. I've got 5 in my system
and can record 5 HDTV (digital) shows at once. I use MythTV because it's
the most versitile of any software I've seen and it's free. The OS is
free, and a complete single unit system can be built for about $300 or
less plus the cost of the tuners. The tuners I use cost about $25 each.
There's about 30 channels of free OTA ATSC digital TV channels in my area.
A DVR for cable or sat complicates matters.

Air2PC Rev.02

Component output?

Depends on what video card I use. I don't use component, but yes you can
have component out if that's what you want.
