Default sky installation and phoneline

My son wanted to have sky installed and asked us about recommending
him. He has only just moved into his house and has no landline for
phone. I said i didn't think they would do it but when we rang them
they said they could install the pnoneline for a one off fee of £25.
This would be done with the installation and had to be paid on the
day. So he set it up to do this but when they did the installation
they said he didn't need a phoneline at all. Obviously I am worried
that they're going to sting him at a later date or make him pay full
price for the first three months but he is adamant they said he was
okay.

any ideas folks? Anyone else got an install without a phoneline?

No, they said that they would install the box *without* a phone line
for a one-off extra fee of £25. You have paid this (or will do so
soon) and so you don't need to have a phone line.

ah, thanks Jomtien, but he seems to be under the impression he's not
paying the £25 either. Are you aware of this payment being done
previously?

I don't personally know anyone who has ever done this as I am never
involved with subsidised installs.

I do know that Sky charge £25 to waive the phone connection
requirement on subsidised regular digibox installs.
