There are recorders with built in hard drives, usually quite expensive compared to their disc only counterparts. Of course there are cheaper brands of those which don't cost the earth but I can't speak for their quality. A good idea might be to go for a machine which can burn to as many formats as possible. I think the current range of Panasonic machines cover just about all bases. They start at around £150 for the most basic machine which still has all format recording and get very expensive by the time you get to the top with freeview and big hard disc etc. The first of their hard disc machines comes in at around £350 products range (most expensive at the top... shopping around helps keep price down but obviously buying from somewhere like Argos makes it easier to return if unhappy) http://www.panasonic.co.uk/dvd-recorders/index.htm There are also a few machines which handle things like divx etc if that's important to you, but I can't name any off the top of my head. I hear bad things about Phillips. I don't own one so can't say if they're true or if they have improved or got worse. -- Paul (Need a lift she said much obliged) ------------------------------------------------------- Stop and Look http://www.geocities.com/dreamst8me/ |

Do you have your old regular digibox? If so bring that back into service and get a DVD recorder that supports auto-record from scart. Connect it to the VCR output on the digibox. If not, think about getting a recorder with GuidePlus+ that supports the Sky+. Either way : get a recorder with a hard drive. These are many times better than the sort without. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these.
