I sitting solidly on top of the fence trying to decide between going
with Direct or Dish. I've been leaning towards Dish because they have more HD content available and their MPEG-4 DVR is also available. Direct does not have any more HD content then my current Time-Warner offerings and there is a waiting list for the -4 DVR. But then there is their trump card--Sunday Ticket. I'm a die-hard fan living in a market that has NO CBS or Fox HD available, and the prospects for getting Fox here eventually looks dim (the local affiliate is a low-powered, low-budget operation). I also read this morning that the NFL has extended the exclusive Sunday Ticket deal for another 10 years with DirecTV. So some questions: How much of the Sunday Ticket package is done in HD? Is there any kind of restrictions on what games you can watch, i.e., blacking out a game because it is being broadcast OTA in my local market? And finally, any prognostication on when Direct will catch up to Dish on HD content? Thanks Dave "having an SD football Thanksgiving" Clary Corpus Christi, Tx P.S. to Larry Bud -- I actually played golf yesterday! :-) |

Unfortunately, CBS only broadcasts 3 games each week, so if you are a fan of an AFC team that is not the Colts, you'll be a bit disappointed some weeks. As far as DirecTV catching up to Dish on HD offerings, I'll have to defer that to someone else. It is my understanding that the necessary satellites to carry more are up there already. |

To get all the HD content for Sunday Ticket, you need the Sunday Ticket package PLUS the superfan package. That gives you 110 games in HD during the season. About 8 per week. |
