Default Showtime wins english premier league rights

Dubai-based pay-broadcaster Showtime Arabia acquired the rights for
the English Premier League in the Middle East and North Africa.

Showtime beat off strong competition from incumbent broadcaster ART
and the Al Jazeera Sports channel. Showtime will cover matches in both
English and Arabic.

The three-year deal covers the 2007-08 to 2009-10 seasons.
