Default On-screen interference

Hello Guys

I've been having on-screen interference on my TV for the past couple
of days. I checked that my TV and video recorder are correctly tuned to
my Sky digibox, every thing seems fine. Can someone help?

Cheers

What does the interference look like - it might give a clue as to what is
causing it. Is it constant or in short bursts or at certain times?

Default On-screen interference

Hi Adrian

My mobile phone is kept most of the time upstairs, the furthest place
possible from the TV screen which is located in the living room
downstairs. The problem is in fact some sort of ghosting around the
shape of the picture like a shadow. Does this information help?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hijack the thread (and crosspost), but it might be related: I
am suffering from interference on my Sony 40W2000 when fed from my HDTV
via HDMI at 1920x1080 (1080p). The interference is a 3-4" green line
that travels slowly from left to right about 2" from the top of the
screen. It's not there from other sources (PS2 via SCART, XBOX360 via
Component or when using the telly's internal analogue or digital
receiver), so I feel it must be being generated within the HTPC.

The PC has the following spec:

Asus P5PL2 motherboard (intel chipset)
Pentium 4 3.2GHz with HT
GeForce 7300GS PCI-E graphics card.
300GB SATA hard disk

I've heard that SATA drives interfere with Nebula DigiTV cards, and am
wondering if that might be causing this problem as well?

Can anyone suggest a way of suppressing the interference?

Cheers,
Andy

That's as may be. They may be faulty though. Try older drivers.

Does it make any difference which source is in use (Scart, component,
internal tuner) BEFORE switching to HDMI input?

I don't think it matters, no. I have tried an upscaling DVD player via
the HDMI at 720p and 1080i (it cannot do 1080p), and there are no
problems at all, so at least I know it's localised to the PC.
