in widescreen!

Yes curious, same on Astra 19.2. Hotbird 13 *is* radiating widescreen of
sorts, a soft and 'stretched' picture though.

method of accessing usenet. GG subscribers would be well advised get a
newsreader, say Agent, and a newsserver, say news.individual.net. These
will allow them: to see only *new* posts, a killfile, and other goodies.

The lip sync on an interview with Shimon Peres seems to leave a bit to be
desired as well, unless of course it's my Amstrad receiver, however there
doesn't appear to be a problem with any other channel.

The main studio centre in Doha is HD, so the output is 16:9 'native',
however they seem to have opted to ARC this to 14:9 letterbox for the
downconverted SD version on Astra 28E (Sky 514).

Meanwhile Al Jazeera is already lifting the veil of the Israeli atrocities
in Gaza and the West Bank ..re the ambulance driver's story tonight....the
Israelis are going to loathe Al Jazeera english ..just wait for them to
start complaining and threatening... their big money men in British politics
will be waving their cheque-books at whoever they think can force it off the
air..mind you the cash for peerages row might dissuade many ....let's see
how Lord Cashpoint comes out of it all.

It aint so black and white as all that. There is a strong argument that they
aren't *that* neutral in their reporting - at times I've found myself almost
viewing them simply as a mouthpiece for islamo fascists and they're way too
anti-West. Yes, Israel are bad buggers....so is Bush and Blair (the latter
merely too gullible for his own good), but so too are these groups of
fanatics that are imposing their brand of religion on the rest of us and
leaving us in the constant threat of terrorism (the same terrorist threat we
have been facing long before the war in Iraq - I heard the calls for the
black flag of Islam to fly over Downing street twenty years ago) whilst
using this agency as its mouthpiece.

I actually just wish there *was* a decent, neutral news agency in this
world.

The Israelis are continuously under attack from ?katusha? rockets launched
by the Palestine (Hamas) government. They have a right of self defence.

Home-made Katuschka rockets..quite right but then the Israelis have the
capacity easily to make Katuschkas of their own and fire those back into the
West Bank and Gaza with similar effects as seen in Israel - especially the
casualty rates.

But they don't do that....do they?..they reply in a grossly disproportionate
manner killing tens and hundreds for each Israeli killed or injured.They use
the massive arsenal they have, supplied by the Americans, for gross overkill
and "collateral" damage to the point that I would say that any reasonable
person could conclude that they want to wipe the Palestinians out.

What Al Jazeera marks is the arrival of a news channels that the Jewish
media moguls here and in the USA cannot interefere with ..remember the
Chairman of the Board of Governors of the BBC is a Jew as are two other
Board members just for starters.

The tiny Jewish minorities here and in the US ,on account of their great
wealth overall, have far,far too much influence.

Most of the neocons pushing the US into war in Iraq were Jews ..Perle
,Wolfowitz et al. The only country ever likely to benefit from the fall of
Saddam Hussein was Israel because he was the one Arab leader who was the
greatest threat to them as he showed during the Kuwait invasion of 1992.

They got a bloody nose in the Lebanon despite dropping huge numbers of
cluster bombs when they knew they were losing and also using other
non-Geneva Convention armaments including uranium tipped munititons and
phosphorous bombs dropped to burn ,maim and kill civilians.

The Israelis are ****s of the worst order and if they do lose their state
then it will be good riddance and they will have deserved it.

Just to add that I am a WASP ..White Anglo-Saxon Protestant......born in the
UK of English parents both sides and back for many generations and an active
member of the Church of England ..since I am also gay and in my sixties , I
do know what it is to be a member of a persecuted minority.
