Default Mast for New HDTV DirectV dish

I have to install my own pole mount for a DirectV dish (condo
oddities), and I have a triple LNB dish currently. Will the new Ka/Ku
dish (which I'll get when I order the service) fit on the same pole? Is
the diameter required still 1.6" with the new dish?

TIA

No, it will not fit. You need a 2" pole. They are available at
fence dealers. They are actually 1.9", so make sure the installer
tightens the bolts real good. You may want to put another bolt
through the dish base and the pole.

Thats crazy. 2" is pretty big. Do they make adapters?

Check
www.solidsignal.com They may have them. A 2" pole isn't that big,
but you want the added strength to hold up the heavier dish.

Another possible idea is as follows:

My terrace has concrete and glass "railings" and a ceramic tile floor.
We're not "allowed" to make any pentrating connections for a dish (ie
drilling into the floor or the concrete wall). I'm thinking that I
could secure a 12"x12" piece of plywood to the top of the cement
wall/railing with serious adhesive, and then have the disk installed
normally with the standard mast (as if on a flat root) onto the wood.
Any thoughts on that?
