You will continue to receive the free unencrypted channels, but the
recording function will be disabled, and you won't be able to playback
existing recordings, so if you want to keep them copy them now.

As the other have replied before me but:

Have you actually cancelled yet?

If not chances are Sky will put you through to another department to offer
you a *good deal* (Basically a reduced rate for any number of months)

Sky don't let you cancel that easily!

Can you pay Sky the £ 10 to have recording ability and the £ 7 or so that
gives a few more
channels some FTA boxes have?

Only a complete fruitcake who's lift doesn't
go to to the top floor would pay 120 quid a year just to use
a function already built into his PVR, when it's free with Freeview.

But the guy has already stated that he can't recieve Freeview in his area.
Or have you not read his post?

Well, not sure what is yet to come but I sent an email to Sky last week,
stating that I´d want to cancel my subscription. Sky´s reply came in this
afternoon:

"Thank you for your email regarding the cancellation of your account.

As your request to cancel your account was received on xxth November 2006,
your account will be cancelled on xxth December 2006, in accordance with the
terms and conditions of the contract.

We are sorry to have lost a valued customer and would like to thank you for
your past custom. Should you wish to resume viewing our channels at any
time, please contact the email address above and I will be pleased to
reinstate your account."

Well, seems quite easy to me.

Or will they start pestering me once we get closer to the day in December?

Achim
