I have an RCA Scenium DLP HDPL50PW164 and the picture is great.
The problem I am having is an audio one. I keep getting a humming or buzzing in the background when we watch TV through our Comcast HD Cable box. I tried adjusting the volume on the cable box itself but it did not solve the problem I am using component cables for the video and RCA plugs for the audio. Any suggestions as what I can to to eliminate this buzzing? |

That will tell you where the problem is and with a set like that you should really go to to a home theather receiver anyway |

I've tried all kind of setting via the monitors audio adjustments in the menu, but the humming is always there. |

If not get a power strip and plug everything into that so that they all have a common ground and common-common. Next if that doesn't solve it start grounding everything to each other so that any leakage is dumped to ground instead of the hum you hear. This used to be common in component stereo systems of the '70's- 80's before polarized plugs etc. Good luck, Rich |

Rich,
That is what I was thinking immediately myself. But then I though most "modern" components solved this problem. They all are plugged into the same grounded power strip. How would I ground them individually? "Rich" wrote in message ... Postal68 wrote: "Leadfoot" wrote in message ... "Postal68" wrote in message . .. You can get a tester about anywhere that sells receptacles and switches for cheap. House wiring problems are not uncommon. |

Some monitors just have poor audio systems (computer monitors with built-in speakers are typically awful in this respect). Do you have the same problems with OTA signals? |

Try the rca jacks hooked up to the tv on the surround system, the cd or aux input should work, if you get humming there it tells you the tv is ok. The other option is to try some other audio device by plugging it into the the TV And as the other posters have said, ground loop is a strong possibility Unplugging and replugging everything has been known to work also. |

No metal = no current = no loop = no hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. |
