Are you watching a channel when it is broadcasting a 4:3 picture. Try
bbc news 24 as this is always in widescreen.

If this works then your telly is Automatically adjusting the picture
to get widescreen and 4:3.

Try changing the scart input on your telly over to another socket. On
my naiko this works perfectly.

I am trying to solve a problem with new TV (goodmans K28W15FT)

16:9 is greyed out.

However when I switch Sky Scart Control off in the sky dashboard the option
is not greyed out and I can set the default aspect ratio to use. The
problem is the picture when scart control is off, is not a brilliant
picture. When I switch it back the picture is clearer. I have tried
setting the default to be 16:9 while scart control is off and then enabling
it again but it switches the screen back to auto with vertical side bars.

All I can find about the sky scart control is that its for if you want to
switch the TV on and off with sky button, so I don;t understand how it is
affecting the picture like this. What I need is a 16:9 default, and scart
control on for the better picture but it will not accept it.

I sorted it eventually last night. The scart control option in the sky
dashboard was overriding all of my settings and resetting them each time. I
don't know how but I managed to fix it. Thanks.
