I was looking at this weeks schedule on CBS:
http://www.sportsline.com/cbssports/schedules/page/nfl and noticed that they have three 1:00 games in HD. I was under the impression they can only do 2 games at the same time in HD. Can they do three simultaneously? |

I've heard they only own two trucks. If they rent more they can do more games. |

I have read that the restrictions is not just production trucks, but satellite uplink equipment and capacity at the network. They reportedly spent their HD budget money this year upgrading the pre-game show to HD. They have stated that they will be upgrading to do 4 HD games on Sunday next year, 5 in 2008, and all games by the 2009 season (2009 being the year that NFL requires that all games be in HD). With the rapidly growing popularity of HD and amount of criticism leveled at CBS, it would not surprise me if CBS accelerates their rollout schedule a bit and goes all HD by 2008. Alan F |

If the game in your market for your team has been a lower tier game not in HD, then the local station will likely show it in upconverted pillarbox (4x3 within a 16x9 frame) SD on the HD channel. whosbest54 -- The flamewars are over...if you want it.
