Can anyone recommend a wireless AV sender that will enable me to view
Sky+ on a second tv, with good picture / sound clarity? Seen a few at Argos, Maplin etc but conscious that some are better than others. Many thanks. |

This is sending a signal from downstairs to an upstairs bedroom in a modern house. I am using another Thomson set up from a standard sky system in another room, which is square shaped and silver and has the number VS470 underneath. It also works well. I bought one system in Argos and one on Ebay. I can't recall which way round tho... Good luck Martin. |

Presumably your Thomson gadget is broadcasting a signal. Does the receiving TV have a corresponding gadget to receive or do you just tune it in using the normal ariel? Can it broadcast to more than one TV? |

See Below. Could you please tell me briefly how these work? Presumably your Thomson gadget is broadcasting a signal. Yes - around 2.4 GHz - Similar to a microwave so whilst in use can affect the signal.(And wireless networks possibly - but I don't have one, so can't comment) Does the receiving TV have a corresponding gadget to receive Yes. Can it broadcast to more than one TV? Yes - I've got 2 receivers upstairs. They also transmit the remote signal to control the digibox downstairs. 4 channels to help with interference. http://www.aei.info/community/html/m...icle.php?id=16 is the nearest model they have to mine now - With an extra receiver. http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...&go.x=0&go.y=0 Graham |

Does anyone else have experience of this? |

Does anyone else have experience of this? Yes. It hasn't been a problem for me. When I was setting up my wireless network, I had to change channel to get a better signal, but I think I was getting a problem with a neighbour's wireless network rather than my two video senders. The 'digisender' type devices usually have four channels which they can transmit on - these loosely map to blocks of three-or-four 'wifi' channels. You'll need to choose/change your channels carefully to avoid a clash - which is not impossible but can be hard if, for example, your neighbours also have wi-fi, or a similar digisender. The early AEI Digisenders seem to have some kind of "feature" (AEI strenuously denied it was a fault) that stops the remote control from working. Something in the sender would get ovewhelmed with electrical noise (e.g. from the television you had connected it to) and nothing else would get through. But hopefully this 'feautre' has been dropped in newer models. -- |
