I have 2 digilogic boxes from Tesco and think they are brilliant. Cost
around £24 each and never seem to lock up and work correctly every time. I
note that Tesco are now starting to move the digilogic brand out to replace
with Ventuer.

Hi there people,

Whats currently regarded as the best freeview reciever on the market.

I was considering getting a Sony VTX-D800U as seen he

http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProdu...VP+Set+Top+Box

I have seen some good reviews on the interweb about this but its
expensive compared to some of the cheap Tesco £20 ones

Is there a real advantage of spending so much money on this Sony chap?

Also if i got a Sony PVR with build in freeview would it have the same
functions (freeview wise) as this standalone reciever?

Yes some people have a fixation about brand names.
I can buy a pair of jeans for £10 or pay £40 for a pair of Levis,
whats the difference? Answer the lable on the back.
My brother paid more for a 'big brand' box for my parents, he was told it
well
designed and easy to use.(A 'best buy' apparently' However it is much more
difficult to set up than my Sagem and very confusing to use, it's EPG is
very poor
IMO, you lose sound and picture when you access it (mini picture and sound
on Sagem). I would not swop it for my box which was at least £20 cheaper.
Also the sound controls on the remote have stopped working, so much for
paying extra for a top brand!!
