Hi All,
I'm sure you'll be the chaps who will know this. My new HD LCD had an HDMI socket but no VGA. I'd like to rig my laptop to it, which only has a VGA socket. Is such a lead available and if so where from and how much? Kind Regards and thanks for the advice that's been offered to others which I've 'borrowed' in the past. Rob ;-) -------- /(bb|[^b]{2})/ - that is the question!!!! |

Something like this:- http://www.lektropacks.com/view_item...&&category=148 -- *My dog can lick anyone Dave Plowman London SW To e-mail, change noise into sound. |

No, a direct re-wire of VGA to HDMI is not possible. But if your LCD has component inputs, there are numerous sites detailing DIY cable connections of VGA to component. Just type "VGA-to-component" to be swamped with every detail. Rob ;-) -------- /(bb|[^b]{2})/ - that is the question!!!! |

Just type "VGA-to-component" to be swamped with every detail. That has to be more than just a "connection". VGA is RGBHV and component is Y, B-Y and R-Y, with sync on luminance. It's a full-blown conversion. |

If your laptop doesn't have a DVI output then you'd need a VGA to DVI converter, you'll almost certainly find these too expensive for occasional use. -- Adrian |
