Default ITV & Channel 4 missing on digital tv

Hi all, I'm in Harrow, more or less half way between Cristal Palace & Hemel
Hempstead but whichever way I'm pointing the aerial and do a rescan, I can't
seem to get the ITV channels or Channel 4. I am getting all the other
channels and the signal is (according to the freeview box) decent (although
a bit better towards Hemel Hempstead). Am I missing something ?

Got it sorted, I eventually found my compass and was able to line up the
loft aerial properly ! Funny thing is that now UHF55 (multiplex 2 I assume)
shows the best signal, maybe that transmitter is more "directional" than the
others... Anyway, it's working !

I guess you must be using Hemel then. Type your postcode into this website
to get the gen:

Can he find out which transmitter he is on by looking at the data given on
screen by his box /tv?

Not in this case, HH is a 'daughter' site of Crystal Palace, so the Tx ID
which is available from some receivers will display 'Crystal Palace' for
both sites.

Seem to have a similar (almost identical problem) with Mux B from Sandy
Heath transmitter (am In chatteris area of cambriegeshire).

Lost it Yesterday (Sunday) and have had nothing since. All other channels
appear fine (although 4 was very pixilated last night). Rescanning the box
give 46 channels in total, rather than the usual 90.

Looked around for info on the BBC site, etc, but can find nothing to suggest
any problems.

Hope Digital TV reliability / signal quality imroves dramatically before
they switch of the analogue completely.

Yes, by comparing the UHF channels corresponding to the muxes. That's how I
guessed he was on Hemel, which uses UHF55 for mux 2 as opposed to UHF22 for
Crystal Palace.
