Default Humax 9200-T

Hi,
I've found the facility to download and edit material recorded
on the 9200-T most useful, the only snag being that I have to take the
lap top to the 9200. Has anyone any experience of a wireless device that
can plug into the usb port and be accessed via a normal wireless
network? The nearest I have found is a Belkin F5D7231UK4P which the nice
man in PCWorld " thinks " may work.
Has any one tried this idea and if so how and did it work?

Looxury! I have to take my desktop PC to pieces and move it across the room
and reassemble it next to the Humax!

Don't know about the Belkin, general routers don't network via usb, any
usb connections that appear on routers are generally for Apple Mac use
or for connecting printers. If you were to buy it I'd get a written
undertaking from PC World that you could get a refund if it didn't
work.

If you're less than 5m away then you could get a 5m usb extension,
otherwise the item at on the link may do the job with a long network
(Cat5) cable, although it's expensive.

Unfortunately I can't offer any advice, although I'm interested at what the
9200 can potentially offer.

Are you able to record a Freeview radio programme in MP3 and transfer it
directly to another computer? Is the file in MP3 format or does it have to
be converted?

Thanks in advance.

dagi.

It has to be converted, the same as a TV recording. (I haven't tried it
myself.)

Have a look at http://www.hummy.org.uk for any questions you have.

It needs converting , but this is dead easy using this bit of software

When you connect the PVR to your PC does it appear as a standard device like a

run special software on your PC to see the data on the PVR.

Special software on the PC unfortunately.

If the former is the case then you might consider an Asus WL-500g. If you need
special software in the PC then you would also need special software in the
Asus. Now if you had a Toppy you could download that special software!
