Sorry Coogrr:
Mine works just fine?/ Maybe you should take the other poster's suggestions
and return it if you are that unhappy. Small claims will only cost you a bit
of money and further aggravation. But again, maybe you have much of the
former and need more of the latter?? Cheers.

So I purchased a K-World USB ATSC tuner ($125.00) and
connected it to my old laptop computer. I was able
to immediately lockk on to all of the HD channels
in the area.
So I purchased a HDTV Tuner Receiver Box ($200.00) and
connected it to the antenna lead that had been connected
to Dennis

Sorry I really cant help you but you may be able to help me.
I would like to know where you bought your OTA HD tuners? I went out
looking for one today with no luck I tried BB Wal-Mart,AmericanTV in my
area.
I guess I can "search" the K-World one but you happen to know the brand
and model number of the $200 one?
Thank You Ray.

Another input on Sharp.

I've had an ongoing problem with my Sharp DLP (I've made several posts
about it). My servicer complained that he had a very hard time
getting help from Sharp in trying to diagnose my problem. He has been
an authorized Sharp servicer for decades, and said that he used to
have a number of contacts within the company that he could go to for
help. He says that now those folks are all gone without being
replaced.

My experience with Sharp's customer service folks has been great.
They've returned calls, expedited parts shipments, and did call backs
after the service. The internals of my TV have been completely
replaced. The only problem is that they still haven't figured out the
problem with my set (which is bad color in low-light scenes in some
instances).

Caveat emptor!!

Ray,

Go to www.epboard.com and look for the PHD-101 tuner. Currently it is
on the middle right of their home page.

I know what you mean about finding a tuner. Lots of them for computers
but the set top boxes are becoming scarce.

I have a Samsung SIR-T451, and I see that it is still available from
Crutchfield and B&H Photo. As for local stores, I've seen the boxes in
Best Buy and CompUSA, but I don't know whether they still carry them.
I would guess that a Tweeter or similar store would carry the Samsung
or similar product.

Rick,

The store (BuyDig.com) does not have a return policy. I was told to
contact Sharp. I think it is defective. I just want someone to prove to
me that it is working as designed. I have gotten a good, solid signal
on two different ATSC tuners. That would seem to indicate the tuner in
the Aquos is not functioning properly. If it is indeed functioning as
designed, then I am stuck with a poorly designed TV and will use with
the tuner box.

So you saved a couple of bucks and bought the tv over the internet instead
of a local dealer. It
sound like you have a defective tuner. Find out who in your area is a
Sharp warranty station and
take the set to them and let them determine if the tuner is defective.

Hopefully it was purchased from an authorized dealer. Many manufacturers
will not honor a warranty unless their products have been purchased from
authorized sources...lots of "gray" market dealers out there trying to make
fast buck.

If it came with a USA warranty card the warranty will probably be
enforced by state law. Check with your state's Attorney General's office
or Department of Consumer Affairs.
