I believe the 41 is this years model. I am looking at them also. There does not seem to be any real difference.

A little more checking got me the following:
Mostly the same but the inputs vary.
40u 41u
2 component 1 component
2 s-video 1 s-video
0 dvi 1 dvi
5 audio rca in 3 audio rca in
1 digital coax out 1 digital optical out
There are some other differences, but minor.

The 41 also view modes for PC work. The 40 doesn't.

That's what the dvi input is for.

Thanks, guys.

Any reason none of the Sharp LCD's have Picture-in-picture?

Probably not a feature that most people want.

If you are seeing the 41 at one of the big box stores you should know
that they often have a vendor make a model that ONLY they sell. That
way they can offer a "price match plus 10 percent" if any store sells
that model for less than their price. They will never have to honor
that since no one else sells it.
