Default Bose Center Channel Speaker

Can anyone recommend a good shelf to wall-mount my Bose VCS-10 center
channel speaker? It's 20 inches wide and the component wall mounts I have
been looking at all have shelves that max out at 17 inches wide.

What's the problem. Mechanically, these mounts will hold the speaker
fine, it just overlaps the end by 1.5incheson each end.

A trashcan.

Now be nice, Lets be helpful no matter what you may think of this product.

Smooth finish boards are available at Lowes, Home Depot, and building
supply places. You can get one cut to the length you need, sand the ends
to a fine finish, paint it, and get some mounting brackets.

Make it, not buy it

total cost is then under $20

Ok, obviously I'm aware that I can make a shelf from Home Depot. I was
thinking more whether there's a shelf on standsandmounts.com (or any other
similar site) that I might be missing.

Bill,
Usually people need a center channel stand when both the sound and esthetics
count. Using the VCS-10 pretty much negates the part about the sound
counting.. so I assume esthetics are what you are after. In that case there
are many stands you can use.. You will need to pick a height that you want
your speaker to be at, then worry about the width. You obviously don't need
to have the entire bottom of the speaker covered so consider anything that
is at least 10" wide should work. The speaker is not heavy and I doubt it
will shake from the sound, so you should be fine with about anything that
pleases your eye.

Try Racks and Stands dot com also try Surround solutions dot com. Good
luck on your search.

Simple custom shelves are very easy to make and the finish/color can
be whatever you want. Design it such that 2" screws are driven into
the studs.

I made four curved shelves for my components with the top shelf
holding my center speaker. The shelves rest on cleats that were
screwed into the studs and painted the same very dark green color as
the walls. The curved design got me a few compliments.

Actually a far superior idea would be to run the center channel audio from
receiver to TV. The TV will have better speakers than the bose.

There we go again. trashing Bose for no other reason than hating them.

A VC-10 has SUPERIOR sound to anything built inside a TV. Bigger
speakers, an engineered enclosure... Almost ANYTHING costing $100 or
more will sound BETTER than the built in speakers on the TV

YES, there are MANY speakers out there that sound FAR better than
Bose. But Bill has a Bose and he is other wise happy with it.

Bose designed the VC-10 to sit on top of the TV set. As such, no
manufacturer has developed a product to wall or shelf mount a VC-10. To
my knowledge, Bose does not offer such

Wong. I speak from experience. Examine a few tvs and the quality of the
speaker drivers inside them. Examine a few bose speakers and the quality of the
drivers.

This is really simple stuff.

You're talking out your ass.

Not so fast.. my internal speakers sound pretty damn good.. But it is a
large RPTV and I can tell you the Bose VCS-10 just isn't that good.. I don't
care who made it..
